Dear Jayhawk,
We hope you are doing well during this time of uncertainty. As we continue to navigate the effects of COVID-19 on Kansas Athletics and our student-athletes, we remain focused on ensuring that our student-athletes have the best experience and are supported both mentally and physically on and off the field.
The revenue shortfall related to COVID-19 continues to remain unknown, but estimates are projected to be upwards of $20-$30 million. Kansas Athletics has taken a proactive approach in trying to minimize the deficits by reducing expenses and operational budgets for all of our sport programs and administrative units. Additionally, KU leadership has enacted two rounds of salary reductions and furloughs department-wide and currently remains in a hiring freeze.
The support from our donors has been unwavering especially in the last eight months. If you have been financially impacted by COVID-19, we understand and look forward to better times for everyone. However, many of our donors continue to ask how they can help. By participating in the 20% for 2020 Campaign, you can continue to make a difference by providing our student-athletes with the resources they need to succeed in the classroom and in competition.
If you have already made an additional 20% for 2020 contribution, we sincerely thank you for your support. Your gift ensures the Kansas student-athlete experience continues for Jayhawks now and forever. As a thank you for choosing Option 1 and making an additional 20 percent contribution that is not tax deductible, we are excited to announce our 20% for 2020 Campaign Raffle!
Current Williams Education Fund members who choose Option 1 and make or postmark 20 percent more than their current contribution by Friday, January 8, 2021:
- Will be entered into different Raffle drawings depending on their current membership level. (See chart above for details)
- Will be entered into the drawings listed above and receive a designated number of Raffle tickets based on their additional 20 percent contribution. (Raffle tickets will be distributed electronically in early December)
- Will only be eligible to win one (1) Raffle prize or experience between January 16, 2021 and February 27, 2021. (Winners need not be present to win and will be contacted by Williams Fund staff)

See an experience on the chart you’d like to win but aren’t eligible for? You can make an additional contribution to “level up” and qualify for higher level prizes!
Example: If a Crimson & Blue Williams Education Fund member wishes to move up to the Jayhawk membership level, they would need to make a donation in addition to their current donation to equal at least $500 (minimum contribution at this level) and then donate the appropriate additional 20 percent. Please contact your Williams Education Fund representative to learn more.
